Helen McCrary Salahuddin, Esquire is an entertainment attorney and businesswoman practicing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Since opening her law practice McCrary-Salahuddin has represented a wide range of clients associated with the entertainment industry

As a businesswoman McCrary-Salahuddin is co-founder of the d’Zert Club and it’s African Genesis Educational Program, a 24-month educational and cultural program for youth between the ages of 7 an 14 focused on developing an understanding and awareness of the African experience in America.  Since 1998, the program, which has chapters in 12 cities across the country, has taken over 2000 youth and adults to Senegal, The Gambia and Ghana, West Africa and to Egypt, North Africa.

In 2009, McCrary-Salahuddin, along with her children Sonni King and Shane Giddiens started Teens Rock Productions.  In March of that year, Teens Rock Productions began producing the weekly television show, Teens Rock Dance Party, an edutainment program for teens dedicated to providing positive programming and information to teens to combat negative activity while they are still having fun.

McCrary-Salahuddin holds a Bachelors degree in Speech Pathology from Howard University and a JD from Temple University School of Law.

She is an active member of the Trustee Board of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Germantown where she served as chair for three years.  She is also the church Treasurer and Coordinator of the Women’s Ministry.

In her free time she enjoys traveling, reading and walking.  McCrary-Salahuddin was a 2000 State Semi-Finalist for outstanding contributions in the community Women of Wonder Awards presented by the National Council of Negro Women, Inc. and Delta Sigma Sorority.  In 2001 she received the Soroptimist Woman of the Year Award and in 2008 received the Woman of Vision award from the Imhotep Charter School.  She has been recognized for her community work by Cheyney University, Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Germantown, City of Philadelphia City Council and Pennsylvania State Legislators and in 2017 by ASIR Educational program.

Helen is married to Ali Salahuddin and has two children, Sonni and Shane and one grandson, Carsen.

Ali Salahuddin is a retired international businessman and entrepreneur.  He is a graduate of Howard University’s School of Business with a degree in accounting.

In his senior year of college, Salahuddin joined the Nation of Islam.  He later became the minister of the West Philadelphia Mosque and Business Manager for the Delaware Valley.

As a businessman Salahuddin founded Superior Food Company and its subsidiaries: Shabazz Steak and Take, The Munchies and Bilal Brand Seafood. He is also the co-founder of the Garden of Bilal Restaurant.

Ali is also Chairperson of the Philadelphia Community of Leaders’s Cultural Committee, President of the Pennsylvania Juneteenth Initiative, Inc and General Manager of IBuyBlack, Inc..

Ali is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and a lifetime member of the NAACP.  He has three children, Jamal, Shariah and Kamillah and 6 grandchildren.
